Separate visibility from outcomes
Impressions show that a page appeared. Clicks show a visit from search. Enquiries and sales reflect later actions. Each metric answers a different question; none should be presented as a substitute for all the others.
Start with the data you actually have
Record Search Console information and available analytics before major work. If call tracking or enquiry attribution is missing, say so. Do not invent a historic baseline or combine incompatible periods without explanation.
Define a qualified enquiry
Agree on what makes an enquiry useful: service fit, coverage, timing and genuine intent. Have the business confirm quality where possible. A growing number of irrelevant submissions may indicate unclear targeting or a spam issue.
Connect observations with completed work
Annotate major content, platform and measurement changes. Consider seasonality, promotions and service availability when comparing periods. A rise after a change is an observation, not proof that the change alone caused it.
Keep the reporting decision-oriented
A useful review answers three questions: what changed, what have we learned and what should we do next? Use rankings diagnostically and keep attention on the pages and decisions that can be improved.
