What is answer engine optimization?
AEO is the practice of making information easy for people and answer systems to interpret. It includes direct explanations, clear business identity, meaningful headings and evidence for factual claims. It builds on SEO. An inaccessible page or an unsupported claim does not become more useful because it has extra markup.
Answer the questions behind a decision
We map the questions customers ask before contacting you: what the service covers, who it suits, what affects cost, what to prepare and what happens next. A concise answer comes first, followed by the detail needed to make it useful. Comparisons should explain trade-offs rather than manufacture a winner.
Connect claims to evidence
Use original examples, documented processes and named expert review when available. Keep business identity and contact information consistent. Publish case studies only when the facts and permission are available.
- Identify who is responsible for the content.
- Link to primary sources for changing technical claims.
- Separate confirmed facts from estimates.
- Update pages when the underlying service changes.
Keep the technical foundation sound
Google’s guidance emphasizes the same search fundamentals for its AI experiences: accessible pages, helpful information and a sound site structure. There is no special schema that guarantees an AI citation. Our SEO and AEO guide explains where the work overlaps. See Google’s official AI-search guidance.
Measure observations honestly
Monitor relevant organic demand and enquiries. When checking AI answers, record the prompt, system and date because responses can vary. Treat an observed mention as a data point, not a permanent placement. We do not promise inclusion in any answer engine.
