Make the catalogue understandable

Categories should reflect how customers browse and compare. A clear hierarchy helps shoppers reach the right products and helps search engines understand the relationships between pages. We review category depth, internal links, product variations and the pages created by filters.

Improve product and category information

Product pages need more than supplier copy. Publish accurate specifications, compatibility, sizing, availability and delivery information.

  • Explain the differences between closely related products.
  • Make Calgary delivery or pickup options visible when available.
  • Keep returns and fulfilment expectations easy to find.
  • Use genuine reviews and accurate product structured data.

Control filters and duplicate paths

Filters can generate many URLs that add little search value. Decide which combinations deserve a useful landing page and which should stay outside the index. Align canonical signals and internal links with that decision; do not block pages before understanding how they are discovered.

Handle change without losing customers

Discontinued products, temporary stock shortages and seasonal ranges need different treatment. A relevant replacement or useful category may help a visitor. Redirecting every unavailable item to the homepage usually does not answer the original need.

Measure commercial progress

Connect organic landing pages with useful shopping actions and sales where analytics is configured. Consider stock, promotions, pricing and seasonality when interpreting changes. Agree on catalogue scope and platform responsibilities before implementation.
